Rogers Now Offering OTA OS Uprades For The Bold 9700 | Crackberry Addiction

BBs are #1 for a good reason. Here’s the latest blackBerry news - Full Article

This article pretty much speaks for it’s self, but here’s a summary:

As of today, Rogers BlackBerry Bold 9700 users will be able to upgrade their OS Over-the-Air (OTA). Users can now upgrade to the official OS 5.0.0.351 OTA, and future versions will be available to download in this fashion as well. Another huge benefit to this announcement is that data used during the update won’t be charged to customers’ data bucket. Updates can also be done over WiFi as well as via BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

The update process will take you anywhere between 45 minutes to 2 hours and it’s recommended that you begin the process outside of peak hours, or install it overnight. Make sure your device has enough battery power to last the upgrade (50% minimum) or is charging while the update takes place. To perform the update, simply go to:

Menu > Options > Advanced Options > Wireless Update.

And follow these instructions:

1. Click “Next”
2. “Update to 5.0.0.351”
3. Click “Next” Again
4. “Save”
5. “Start download”
6. You can “pause download” as required

Rogers are working hard to bring OTA device upgrades to other devices and later this year will be offering it for the 9000, 8520 and 8900.

RIM stocks are a good bet after hearing that.
